How to travel safely in Florida’s travel ban

VIRGINIA:  A ban on all Muslim-majority countries in the U.S. has been issued for the first time in Virginia, after the state’s attorney general said the ban is unconstitutional.

Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) issued a proclamation Friday banning entry to the United States from seven Muslim-dominated nations and barring visas to nationals of Iran, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen.

McAuliffe’s proclamation states that the order is necessary to protect the safety of the American people and protect our national security.

The U.K. has also imposed its own ban on Muslims entering the U: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that the United Kingdom’s “one nation, two systems” principle will not allow us to allow any country to enter into a “frozen agreement” with the U of A over the admission of refugees.

In addition, Britain has issued a travel ban for the U, but the U has issued no such ban, as the U is not a member of the EEA and cannot impose a similar restriction.

“Our country has been through a series of events over the last few weeks, and I know the people of this Commonwealth are ready to fight for our rights and our freedoms, regardless of the outcome,” McAuliffe said in a statement.

“I am committed to protecting the safety and security of the citizens of Virginia, and will continue to fight against any attempt by the U to take away our freedoms and liberties.”

In Virginia, U.N. refugee agency UNHCR said it was “aware of the issuance of an executive order by Governor McAuliffe and is working with state, local, and federal officials to ensure that any affected people are given priority to enter the United State.”

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has said in the past that the U will not take refugees from the U but the travel ban is “an extremely concerning development.”

UNHCR has said the U had to make a “political decision” in the wake of the Paris attacks that could lead to a refugee crisis.
